This is Galilee (TIG) Newsletter, Issue #004 -- Dance Festival and More About Moving North
July 13, 2011

What's New at TIG?

Welcome to the July Issue of the Galilee Newsletter - A monthly e-zine about the north of Israel and all that's new at (TIG).

This month's newsletter falls right in the middle of the Karmiel Dance Festival, so even though I haven't written a page on Karmiel this month, there's no way I can ignore such a major event in the Galilee! This has been going since 1988 when it started out as an Israeli folk dancing festival but has grown into an enormous colourful celebration with professional dance troupes from Israel and around the world.

This year there are almost 80 different performances to choose from at various cultural centres and sports complexes in Karmiel, some with admission fees and others free of charge. As well as the Israel dance troupes, you can see dancing from Spain, Argentina, Korea, Romania and India. See you there next year!

Job hunting has been on my mind lately, as I begin to think about moving North at the end of this year. I've been gathering information and making lists of possibiities and I've given you my top 10 suggestions. All of the ideas come from work that I have done or have considered doing at some time. As always, I will only ever recommend names, places or organisations that I believe to be reliable.

The online suggestions only came to me since I started building TIG website. I love the idea that I don't necessarily have to sit in an office all day long to make a living. I can work anywhere I want - all I need is a laptop!

I will be going into more details about the companies I presently work with so you can judge for yourself - but not before I write a whole new section on the Gilboa - including dry skiing and hot air ballooning! So look out for that in next month's newsletter!

If you've been to the Galilee or the Golan, tell others about the great places you've found there. Did you stay in a zimmer that was special or a green lodging that was eco-friendly? Did you find a restaurant that serves delicious food? Don't keep it to yourself - just fill in the form at the bottom of the appropriate page and I will publish your review at

Did you know you can get notifications of all my updates directly to your browser home page? All you have to do is click the RSS feed above the navigation bar on the top left-hand side of the page and subscribe to my site. What's RSS? Watch this video for an explanation!

Did you find some interesting information? Share it with friends on Facebook or tweet about it on Twitter. See the buttons at the bottom of all my webpages!
