Mount of Beatitudes -
Breathtaking Views!

The Mount of Beatitudes is a low hill a short walk from Tabgha. This is the place where Jesus is said to have given the sermon on the mount. The Church of the Beatitudes was built by the Franciscans on the hilltop to commemorate this event. It's an impressive octagonal building and was designed by the famous architect, Antonio Barluzzi in 1938.

The ruins of a small church built in the Byzantine period have been discovered further down the hill. From the hilltop position of the present church, you can stand on the arched balcony and enjoy breathtaking views of the Sea of Galilee and the surrounding countryside.
